It is believed that college is very important to learn new skills and gain knowledge about business. But due to the very fast changing behaviour of the consumers and the business, most of the colleges are not able to cope with the things that are required to be successful in business in this modern era. We have made a list of successful Indian entrepreneurs who took the tough decision of leaving the college to do something good on their own.
1. Ankit Oberoi
Ankit Oberoi is a co-founder of Adpushup, which is an ad platform for the monetization of websites. He decided to drop out from Maharaja Agrasen College in the very first semester as he felt it was not worth his time and started learning from the internet.
2. Rahul Yadav
Rahul Yadav is one the co-founders of the Housing.com. He wanted to solve the problem of finding houses in the big cities and college was not helping him. So, he decided to leave college in his fourth year (7th semester) from IIT Bombay. Leaving college just months before completing the graduation was a very brave idea.
3. Abhishek Gupta
Abhishek Gupta is a college dropout who loves to code. He co-founded Frankly.me with Nikunj Jain. Prior to this, he also started Zumbl.com. He used to study computer science in IIT Delhi which he decided to leave due to his love in technology and internet world. He has the aim of increasing the IQ of an average conversation on the internet.
4. Bhavin Turakhia
Bhavin Turakhia is the co-founder of a domain registering website Directi.com. He knew that internet industry will be the next big thing in the late 90s when very few people in India had access to computers. He is also an engineering college dropout.
5. Kunal Shah
Kunal Shah is the co-founder of the very famous online recharge platform Freecharge. The company was founded in 2010 and soon was acquired by Snapdeal. He dropped out from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.
Through this list, we are not saying that every college dropout can achieve the success these people did. But if you have both the courage and a plan that you cant hold then you must give it a try.
