New Year’s Eve has been the busiest day for food delivery companies. On this day, food delivery companies receive the largest number of orders as compared to any other day of the year. Over the years, Zomato and Swiggy have been sharing updates and funny tweets about the vast number of orders they have received on new year’s eve.

https://twitter.com/deepigoyal/status/1609169782825271296s

This year, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal took it far by becoming a delivery partner himself. Yes! He dressed up as a Zomato Delivery partner in the company’s red jersey with Zomato written on it and went to deliver a food box himself.

Going to deliver a couple of orders on my own right now. Should be back in an hour or so.

— Deepinder Goyal (@deepigoyal) December 31, 2022

He shared a picture of himself in which he is seen wearing the Zomato jersey and carrying a food delivery box. He looks all happy and excited while carrying the food box. The Zomato CEO discovered later that the order he was supposed to deliver was made by one of his office members at Zomato.

My first delivery brought me back to the zomato office. Lolwut! https://t.co/zdt32ozWqJ pic.twitter.com/g5Dr8SzVJP

— Deepinder Goyal (@deepigoyal) December 31, 2022

“My first delivery brought me back to the Zomato office. Lolwut!” he tweeted.

While his staff was working tirelessly at the Zomato office, Goyal was present there to provide all the cheer and motivation.

Back in office. Delivered 4 orders; one of them to an elderly couple celebrating NYE with their grandchildren ♥️

— Deepinder Goyal (@deepigoyal) December 31, 2022

Also, orders are not slowing down. High stress environment in the office. Glad I was away for the last 90 minutes 🤓

— Deepinder Goyal (@deepigoyal) December 31, 2022

According to Goyal, Zomato had already surpassed the previous year’s orders per minute by 6:40 pm, and by 6:52 pm a total of 16,512 biryanis were en route to their delivery destinations.

Fun fact: orders delivered today >> sum of all orders delivered in the first 3 years of our food delivery service.

— Deepinder Goyal (@deepigoyal) December 31, 2022

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal was joined by Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa to deliver orders as well.

Stepped out to help @deepigoyal deliver some orders 😀 https://t.co/GuNA000YSH pic.twitter.com/l4Tu750xNV

— Albinder Dhindsa (@albinder) December 31, 2022

According to  Dhinndsa, Blinkit delivered three times more orders than last New year’s eve.

Already delivered 3x more orders than last NYE. Servers and stores holding strong 💪

— Albinder Dhindsa (@albinder) December 31, 2022

The Blinkit CEO also tweeted that the top saved addresses people have been ordering at our ‘Home’ and ‘Parents’

Top saved addresses people have been ordering at are – ‘Home’ and ‘Parents’

Good to see distance is not coming in the way of celebrating NYE together ❤️

— Albinder Dhindsa (@albinder) December 31, 2022

Swiggy CEO Sriharsha Majety also shared a tweet informing that the food delivery platform had delivered 13 lakh orders by 6:33 pm.

The party is already off to a fast start – we have already delivered over 1.3 million orders and counting. Our fleet & restaurant partners are geared up to make this NYE unforgettable. Pro-tip: order early to beat the rush! 😉 pic.twitter.com/KkMKewg6UL

— Sriharsha Majety (@harshamjty) December 31, 2022

People on Twitter were amused by these fun facts shared by the CEOs of top food delivery platforms in India and replied with interesting tweets.

Hay sar kab se request hai sar meri ID khol dijiye na please sar please meri ID login kar dijiye sar please request aapko meri family ka vasta sar Fe id334647 mobile number 8880667417
