Ishan Chatterjee has quit as Managing Director of YouTube India and will soon assume the role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) at Viacom18-owned JioCinema.
Sources familiar with the matter have confirmed this to Marketing Mind.
Chatterjee’s 13-year tenure with Google, which included six years at YouTube, has come to an end. He began his journey with Google in October 2011 as Industry Head, Top Accounts, FMCG. Later, he was elevated to Regional Client Leader, EMEA, a role he served from July 2014 to September 2015. In October 2015, he was promoted to the role of Global Client Leader and later, in June 2016, Chatterjee served as Google’s Director, Global Client and Agency Solutions.
Between November 2016 and July 2018, he worked as Director, Google Play, EMEA, at Google Play.
In July 2018, he joined YouTube as Director, YouTube Product Partnerships, APAC, Emerging Markets. He then served as Director, Product Partnerships, APAC, from April 2020 to May 2021. In May 2021, Chatterjee was elevated to Managing Director, Product Partnerships, APAC, a role he served till November 2022.
Later, he was promoted to the role of Managing Director, YouTube India, a role he served for nearly two years.
Before joining Google, Chatterjee was associated with McKinsey and Company for over two years as Associate from 2009 to 2011 and then as Engagement Manager June 2011 to October 2011. In the past, he also worked with Hindustan Unilever.
