WPP has signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT), an institute backed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB). The collaboration is aimed at supporting the growth of India’s media and entertainment industry and developing future creative talent.
The partnership will combine IICT’s academic and research strengths with WPP’s industry expertise to co-develop curriculum, support faculty engagement, mentor start-ups, collaborate on research, plan campus tech infrastructure, and assist with outreach and promotion.
WPP becomes the first agency group to enter a comprehensive partnership with IICT, joining major tech companies like Google, Meta, Microsoft, JioStar, Nvidia, and Adobe in supporting India’s growing creator economy.
The collaboration follows IICT’s formal inauguration by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at the new IICT-NFDC campus in Mumbai. WPP’s involvement builds on its ongoing investment in India, including the expansion of its Global Delivery Centre, new campuses, and its Creative Technology Experience Centre.
CVL Srinivas, WPP’s Country Manager for India, said, “We are incredibly proud to partner with the Indian Institute of Creative Technologies. This collaboration is a testament to WPP’s deep commitment to nurturing talent and driving innovation in India’s dynamic media and entertainment sector. By combining IICT’s academic rigor with WPP’s global industry leadership, we aim to equip the next generation of creative professionals with the skills and insights needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. This initiative aligns perfectly with the Government of India’s vision for a robust digital economy and its focus on skill development in cutting-edge creative technologies.”
Ashish Kulkarni, Board Member of IICT, said, “We’re excited to partner with WPP, as it brings together expertise in creativity, technology, and media. This will help elevate IICT to the level of top institutes like IITs and IIMs. WPP’s experience and network will support joint research and future-ready, market-focused programs.”
