Wagh Bakri Tea Group Ropes In ITC COO Sanjay Singal As Its New Chief Executive Officer

After being associated with ITC as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for more than eight years in the past, Sanjay Singal has now joined Wagh Bakri Tea Group in the capacity of its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) .

Wagh Bakri Tea Group Ropes In ITC COO Sanjay Singal As Its New Chief Executive Officer

Wagh Bakri Tea Group has onboarded former ITC professional- Sanjay Singal as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

He was associated with ITC as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) for more than eight years in the past. He was responsible for managing all aspects of the company’s dairy and beverages business.

Singal took to LinkedIn to make the announcement.

Prior to joining ITC as COO in July 2016, he was associated with Dabur India across a slew of roles. He joined the FMCG major as General Manager- Marketing in September 2010 and was promoted to Senior General Manager- Marketing in July 2013. Later, he served as Dabur’s Marketing Head- Foods from July 2014 to June 2016.

Before Dabur, Singal served the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Aditya Birla Group from 2008 to 2010, during which time he was responsible for overseeing Marketing and Public Relations of Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund and was a member of the Aditya Birla Financial Services Marketing council that drove pan-group marketing initiatives, including the one brand initiative.

From 2007 to 2008, he was associated with GE Capital as Chief Marketing Officer and Head- e-Business and Pricing and was responsible for Marketing and Pricing of the company’s complete range of financial services across Personal Loans, Mortgage, Credit card and Insurance.

Previously, he also served a two-year long stint at Yum! Restaurants International during which he served the role of Senior Marketing Manager- South Asia and was responsible for spearheading the ‘Pizza Hut’ brand in the region.

Before this, he was associated with Hindustan Unilever for a period of more than eight years. He joined the FMCG major as Customer and Channel Manager- Personal Products in January 1998 and was elevated to the role of Senior Brand Manager- Fair & Lovely in January 2001, followed by Regional Innovation Manager-Dove role in July 2003 at Unilever’s Thailand branch.

He began his career with Lakme Lever in January 1995 as Area Sales Manager- Lakme and handled various responsibilities at the company including that of managing National Sales.
