Television channels have been working really hard to keep the viewership the highest. With people spending more time at their homes, it has given the channels a chance to bring out more and more content to keep people hooked.
Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India has recently launched their weekly report ranking the top Indian channels according to their AMA ’000 (Average Minute Audience in ‘000s). AMA ’000 is the weekly impressions that these channels have had in the said period.
As per BARC’s Week 31 Data, from 31st July 2021 To Friday, 6th August 2021, STAR Plus has ranked No. 1 across all regions in the country. It received 2899.7 weekly impressions (AMA’000)
Following Star Plus’s lead, Star Maa stood in the second position replacing Sun TV from the previous week and recorded 2719.88 (000s) AMA while Sun TV was on the third spot with 2690.63 (000s) AMA.
Colors came in fourth with 2204.01 AMA’000s and Star Utsav stood on number five with 2158.82 AMA’000s. Sony Sab, Star Vijay, Zee Telugu, and Dhinchaak grabbed sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth positions respectively with 2152.62 AMA’000, 1954.41 AMA’000, 1631.75 AMA’000, and 1591.45 AMA’000. Meanwhile, Zee Anmol stood at number ten with 1572.14 AMA’000.
Hindi Speaking Market
The HSM ranking was also published wherein Star Plus was again the winner of the week with 2810.42 impressions. Colors (2164.51 AMA’000) , Star Utsav (2150.25 AMA’000), Sony SAB (2106.94 AMA’000), and Dhinchaak (1570.31 AMA’000) stood on the second, third, fourth, and fifth position respectively.
South Market
South Indian market had 5 channels that were ranked in the weekly report. Sun TV stood at the first place with 2683.23 weekly impressions, STAR Maa was second with 2647.09 weekly impressions, STAR Vijay was third with 1950.3 weekly impressions, Zee Telugu and Zee Kannada stood on the fourth and fifth 1597.01 and 1493.19 weekly AMA’000.
