Tata Digital’s new Chief Executive Officer, Naveen Tahilyani, has announced a leaner A-team, comprising 20 members. As part of this rejig, Abhimanyu Lal has been elevated to Chief Marketing Officer and Sheran M Mehra’s remit has been expanded (Chief Brand Officer and Business Head – Hotels) to include the role of brand advisor for the Neu super app.
Lal, who will now be serving as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, has been associated with Tata Digital for nearly five years. He joined the company in December 2019 as Chief Marketing Officer and Head Operations. He was elevated to Chief Business Officer, House of Brands, D2C Commerce in May 2022 and was later promoted to Chief Business Officer – Growth (Product Commerce) in April 2023.
Prior to joining Tata Digital, he was the Chief Product Officer at Pepperfry from January 2018 to December 2019.
Before that, he was the Chief Business Officer at KartRocket from September 2016 to December 2017·
Previously he served as Co-Founder & CEO at Twyst.in from May 2013 to July 2016.
In the past, Lal also worked with eBay for over eight years from April 2005 to April 2013, Tata Strategic Management Group from April 2003 to 2005 and Arthur Andersen Business Consulting for three years.
Similarly, Mehra’s remit has been expanded (Chief Brand Officer and Business Head – Hotels) to include the role of brand advisor.
As per reports, she will also work closely with Tahilyani on brand marketing, corporate communication and public relations.
Mehra joined the company in November 2019 as Chief Brand Officer – Product Design, Brand and was elevated to Chief Brand Officer and Business Head – Hotels in April 2022.
Before that, she served as Executive Director – Group Strategic Marketing & Communications at DBS Bank India from July 2013 to September 2019.
She was the Head, Resort Marketing at Mahindra Holidays & Resort for over a year.
She was associated with Dhanlaxmi Bank as the Head, Marketing & CRM for three years.
In the past, she has worked with various companies including Barclays Bank, HSBC, Ogilvy & Mather and SSC&B Lintas.
According to reports, Tahilyani announced his A team in an internal mail to employees.
Reports stated that earlier the total number of leaders was 35 which has now come down to 20.
