Schindler has elevated Tarunesh Mathur to President and CEO for India and South Asia. He has taken over from Nitin Chalke, who joined the Schindler Group Executive Committee and will now head the Asia Pacific region from Singapore.
The appointment was announced via Mathur’s LinkedIn.
Mathur has been with Schindler since 2013. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President – Existing Installation Business from April 2023 to July 2025, where he led service operations, aftermarket sales, and digital transformation with full P&L responsibility. Before that, he was Vice President – Field Operations from January 2020 to April 2023, overseeing growth and efficiency across the West 2 region during the pandemic years.
He has also held various leadership roles within Schindler across exports, regional operations, and strategic business units during his tenure.
Before joining Schindler, Mathur worked with Tata Motors from 2009 to 2013 in sales and marketing roles across India, South Africa, and Bangladesh, including a key stint as Divisional Manager – Marketing for the Small Commercial Vehicle segment.
