Swiggy has rolled out a range of new features for its Food on Train service this festive season, aiming to bring a personalized culinary experience to millions of travelers across India. Users can now choose from the ‘City Best’ collection, featuring iconic dishes from local eateries at stations, ensuring familiar flavors and trusted quality.
The platform has also launched Easy Eats, a selection of meals packaged for hassle-free train dining. From healthy salads to fun snacks like fries and nachos, each meal comes with a cutlery kit, making on-the-go eating simpler and cleaner.
For vegetarian travelers or those observing Navratri fasting, Swiggy has added a dedicated Pure Veg section, allowing users to quickly find 100% vegetarian meals. Additionally, the new Offer Zone provides access to over 30 deals, including discounts of up to 60% at top restaurants, making festive travel more affordable.
Swiggy’s upgraded Food on Train platform enables faster ordering, with users able to complete transactions up to 25% quicker. The service spans more than 5,000 dishes across 115+ stations, covering both regional specialties and popular favorites. By combining curated choices, reliable quality, and seamless technology, the platform has made train travel meals simpler and more enjoyable for India’s nearly 16 lakh daily reserved passengers.
Commenting on the new festive features, Deepak Maloo, VP – Food Strategy, Customer Experience & New Initiatives at Swiggy, said, “We’ve listened to what our customers want, and we’re excited to roll out a suite of smarter, more personalized meal choices designed to make every journey delicious, convenient, and truly special. With City Best, we’ve taken the guesswork out of ordering, so travelers can effortlessly find trusted, high-quality meal options from restaurant partners celebrated for their amazing food, hygiene, and generous portions. Similarly with Easy Eats, we are solving the problem of messy, inconvenient meals on-the-go, while our Pure Veg section gives vegetarian travelers peace of mind. All-in-all, we are trying to bring to life what we all know: that the journey is just as important as the destination!”
