Surabhi Kanjilal took charge as Chief Marketing Officer at Zurich Kotak General Insurance in February 2025, marking the latest chapter in a marketing career spanning over 15 years across insurance, fintech, and digital growth sectors.

Before this, Surabhi spent six years from February 2019 to January 2025 leading marketing and retail projects at Reliance General Insurance. There, she built brand presence for the full suite of general insurance products — motor, health, and commercial lines — while driving strategic growth initiatives through the retail PMO.
Prior to Reliance GI, Surabhi worked for nearly two years from June 2017 to January 2019 as AVP of Growth Strategy at DCMN, a Berlin-headquartered growth marketing consultancy. At DCMN, she led strategy for consumer internet brands, focusing on scaling marketing visibility and impact across Europe and emerging markets.
Surabhi’s earlier roles include a founding position at Bengaluru-based bike-taxi startup HeadLYT from November 2016 to June 2017, where she designed and managed marketing efforts to grow supply and demand for their app-based mobility service. Before that, she led brand and organic growth marketing at personal finance app Money View from September 2015 to June 2017, scaling their marketing function and driving sustainable user growth.
Her marketing journey began in the digital and mobility space with Ola, where from September 2014 to September 2015 she was part of the core team that built TaxiForSure’s brand from the ground up, including launching their first integrated ATL/BTL/digital campaign and driving market expansions.
Earlier experience includes account leadership at MullenLowe Lintas Group from September 2012 to September 2014 handling key clients such as Volvo Cars, Oppo, and Panasonic, and brand communications at Apollo Munich Health Insurance from January 2010 to September 2012. There she led marketing campaigns during the reinsurer transition and helped establish thought leadership. Prior to this, she was with Leo Burnett Orchard as Brand Manager from July 2009 to January 2010.
