N P Singh, Managing Director and CEO of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has asked SPNI to kickstart its search to find his successor as he intends to transition from playing an operational role in the company to an advisory one.
However, until the company finds a suitable fit for the role, Singh who has been associated with the company for the last 25 years, will continue to lead SPNI as MD and CEO.
In an internal email that Singh shared with the company, he mentioned, “Today, I have a significant update to share. After nearly 44 years in my career, including a rewarding 25-year tenure at SPNI, I have decided to move on from my role as MD and CEO. Having reached many significant milestones with our team, I am now ready to focus on social change and shift from operational roles to advisory ones.”
“We have begun a structured succession planning process for my successor and hope to have exciting news to share in the near future. Finding the right fit is our top priority,” he added.
Furthermore, in the email, he also stated, “However, my commitment to SPNI and its success remains strong. During my time here, we have established industry benchmarks, expanded our reach, and achieved many noteworthy accomplishments. I am dedicated to ensuring our legacy of success continues and grows under the new leadership.”
Singh had joined SPNI in 1999 as Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2004 and later elevated to Chief Executive Officer in 2014.
Before that, he was the Chief Financial Officer from May 1998 to June 1999 at Spice Telecom.
From January 1996 to May 1998, he was associated with Modicorp as Chief Financial Officer – Telecom and other positions; from December 1988 to December 1995; he worked as Controller Business Operations and others at Modi Xerox; from January 1981 to December 1988, he was the Senior Accounts Officer and others at Hindustan Copper.
