Plum, a healthcare platform, has appointed Sankaralingam, aka Sankar, as SVP Engineering. With more than 25 years of experience at companies including Amazon, Cisco, and Intel, Sankar will lead Plum’s engineering team as the company expands its platform.
Sankar has joined Plum as the company evolves from an insurance tech platform to a broader healthcare provider. He will lead the engineering team in building the infrastructure needed to support Plum’s goal of reaching 10 million users by 2030. His appointment follows the recent hiring of Prayat Shah as Head of Healthcare, who is leading the company’s expanding healthcare vertical.
Sankar has led engineering and product initiatives at various companies, more recently at Jupiter, bringing experience in building scalable systems across various stages of growth.
Under Sankar’s leadership, Plum’s engineering team will focus on advancing its AI-driven approach to personalized healthcare, building secure systems for large enterprises, and scaling the platform for rapid user growth while maintaining strong security and compliance. He will also lead efforts to deepen integrations with insurance and healthcare providers, and improve features like instant claims approvals and reimbursements to enhance the user experience.
