Patanjali Ayurved is reaching new heights every day and it doesn’t look like that the growth of this company will slow down in coming future. Patanjali is launching new products and expanding its market at a good pace. This summer, this Baba Ramdev owned company is coming up with a new brand in Indian packaged drinking water market. Patanjali will start distributing the packaged water under Divya Jal brand in next few months.
Patanjali is targeting to get the sales of around Rs. 1000 cores by 2018-19 with Divya Jal. Indian packaged drinking water market is growing due to urbanisation and like FMCG, Patanjali wants to capture this sector too. The company has all the manufacturing facilities at Haridwar and Uttar Pradesh to distribute the products to other parts of the country.
With Divya Jal, Patanjali will compete with successful packaged mineral water brands such as Himalayan, Bisleri, Kinley, Qua and many more. The packaged drinking water market is expected to reach Rs 15,000 crore in 2021 which is more than double as compared to Rs 7,040 crores in 2016.
With a revenue of more than Rs 10,500 crore in the financial year 2016-17, Patanjali is looking promising. Foreign companies have also started focusing on Ayurvedic products now as they know Indians are preferring these more.
After ruling FMCG market, Patanjali is focusing on other markets and it has launched many new brands. Government is also supporting Indian companies for manufacturing in India as it brings a lot of employment in India. Next few years will decide the future of multinational brands in India as the mindset of Indians has changed a lot now.
