Reliance Brands shared the exciting news on LinkedIn, stating, “Muji India flagship store now open at Jio World Plaza, Mumbai. The store location at Bandra Kurla Complex is in the heart of the city and functions as both a business district and a hub for daily activities.”

This flagship store also houses the inaugural Muji Café in India, adding a delightful gastronomic dimension to the Muji experience.

Muji’s Diverse Offerings for Indian Households

Renowned for its commitment to simplicity, quality, and design, Muji covers an extensive range of product categories catering to households. From furniture, bedding, storage solutions, stationery, electronics, travel essentials, to cosmetics and apparel, Muji provides a one-stop solution for various lifestyle needs.

The Reliance Retail-Muji Collaboration

The partnership between Reliance Retail’s upmarket brands arm, Reliance Brands, and Muji began in 2015 with the aim of bringing Muji-branded stores to India. The recent strategy shift indicates plans for larger stores, some ranging from 20,000-22,000 sq. ft., to showcase an even more extensive and diverse portfolio of products akin to the Japanese brand’s offerings in various global markets.

Muji currently operates four stores in India, with three in Mumbai situated at Jio World Plaza Mall, Jio World Drive, and Phoenix Palladium Mall, and one in Noida at DLF Mall of India.

Global Presence of Muji

Founded in 1980, Muji derives its name from the Japanese phrase ‘Mujirushi Ryohin,’ translating to ‘no-brand quality products.’ This encapsulates Muji’s ethos of simplicity, quality, and design. The brand has gained a global presence, with over 1,000 stores across 31 countries, spanning three continents signifying its international acclaim and popularity.

Reliance Brands – Pioneers in Bringing Global Icons to India

Established in 2007, Reliance Brands has been instrumental in introducing over 85 international brands to India. The impressive portfolio includes renowned names such as Balenciaga, Burberry, Hamleys, Ferragamo, Michael Kors, Pret A Manger, Armani, Gap, Bottega Veneta, Zegna, Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana, among others.

Muji’s latest flagship store in Mumbai is not just a retail space; it’s a testament to the flourishing collaboration between global excellence and Indian retail landscapes.
