Mohit Dhanjal has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Metro Brands, a footwear retailer. In his new role, he will be responsible for driving operational excellence and process improvements to support the company’s growth initiatives.
As per the brand, he will have a profound impact on shaping the strategic direction of the company and overseeing day-to-day operations.
Before joining Metro Brands, Dhanjal was associated with Reliance Retail for three years. He joined the company in September 2021 as Chief Operating Officer at Reliance Jewels. He was then promoted to Chief Revenue Officer at Reliance Beauty in February 2022 and continued till August 2024.
Previously, he was the Chief Executive Officer of SEPHORA – Arvind Beauty Brands Retail from December 2020 to August 2021.
Prior to this, Dhanjal was with Raymond for over five years in two roles. He served as Director Retail and Mentor Raymond Tailoring Initiative from January 2015 to July 2019. In this role, he was heading the retail for ‘The Raymond Shop’. As part of the Business Leadership team, he also led the revival of the tailoring profession and established the Tailoring Centre of Excellence, Tailoring Hubs.
In his nine-year long stint with Unilever, he started as the Business Manager – Retail and OOH in December 2005. Later, he became the business head for Kwality Wall’s Ice Cream parlours and Swirl’s shops. Then, he was promoted to Head of Retail- AMET (Asia, Middle East, Turkey) in January 2012.
Previously, he served as Senior Manager- Retail in Mumbai for TATA Teleservices from July 2004 to November 2005. Here he was the channel head for True Value Shoppes.
Before this, Dhanjal was the Regional Manager – Retail Operations in Bengaluru for ITC from 2001 to 2004. Before that, in his tenure with ColorPlus, he served as Regional Marketing Manager for five years, from 1996 to 2001.
Prior to this, he was in Restaurant Operations of the Taj Group of Hotels in Chennai and Bengaluru from 1994 to 1996.
