For the past two years, she’s been a pocket and purse accessory to millions of IPhone User’s, she is SIRI Apple’s voice activated virtual assistant, introduced to the masses with the launch of IPhone 4S on October 4th
Bennett said she didn’t know she voiced Siri until Apple integrated it into the iPhone in 2011. “A colleague e-mailed me [about Siri] and said, ‘Hey, we’ve been playing around with this new Apple phone. Isn’t this you?'” she said. Once Bennett heard Siri’s voice, she knew it was here voice.
Bennett is an accomplished voice actor, and has done work for companies like AT&T, Delta Airlines, Coca Cola, McDonalds, a few GPS Systems and more.
When Bennett signed the contract for the job in 2005, she didn’t know what the recordings would be used for. But the gig had her working four hours a day for a month
When the work was done, Bennett collected her hourly rate and moved on to the next gig. She was not told what the recordings would be used for. She also added that while she was recording she was asked to be very consistent, they had to have the same pitch, tone and same pacing.
Little did she know that 6 years later, her voice would be in the hands of millions of people all around the Globe.
Apart from this she was also the Voice of the First-Ever ATM Machine, in the early 70’s, The First National Bank of Atlanta started introducing some the earliest ATM Machines but nobody would use them as people didn’t trust technology at that time, so the company decided to personalize the experience for the customers and added a Little Face of a Smiling Girl on it and called her “Tillie the all time Teller” and they hired Susan to sing a jingle in the voice of the girl.
