Famous fashion brand Lacoste has changed it’s iconic logo. The green crocodile logo of Lacoste is one of the most recognized logos in the world. The company has replaced this logo for the first time with 10 of the most endangered species on earth for a limited-edition collection of shirts.
Lacoste is manufacturing the number of polo shirts equal to how many of each species are left on the planet. For example, only 30 vaquita porpoises and 231 Californian condors polo shirts are made by the brand.
This special collection of shirts have been produced in support of the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Save Our Species program.

The Vaquita, or Gulf of California porpoise
Vaquita is a sea mammal that likes to swim swimming in shallow waters. Its weight is near to 48kgs normally and it is 1.5m in length. There are only 30 Vaquitas left in the world.
The Burmese Roofed Turtle
This turtle is very colourful and beautiful in looks. Easy to predict nesting sites and reproduction periods are the reasons why this species is near to getting extinct. Only 40 such turtles are present on earth as of now.
The Northern Sportive Lemur
This creature is just over 50cm from head to tail and weighs around 800 grams only. The Northern Sportive Lemur is found in the dry forests of Northern Madagascar. Deforestation by cutting of trees is making them lose their habitat and there are only 50 of them left.
The Javan Rhino
Javan Rhinos are found in Indonesia in both plains and rainforests. They’re endangered because of the low reproduction. There are only 67 such Rhinos left.
The Cao-vit Gibbon
The Cao-vit Gibbon is very quick and flexible creatures. Deforestation is the reason of their very less availability. There are only 150 Cao-vit Gibbons left in the wild.

The Kakapo
The kakapo is a parrot with yellowish moss green and brown plumage and found in New Zealand. The male kakapo is popular for producing a unique voice called ‘boom’ to attract females.

The Saola
These are shy herbivores and love leads a quiet life in the forests and mountains of Vietnam and Laos. Humans converting these forests and mountains for its own use is threatening their lives.
The Sumatran Tiger
This Tiger weighs around 100 kilos and is a carnivore found in Indonesia. There are 350 such tigers in the world presently.
The Anegada Ground Iguana
This iguana is a herbivore and weighs around 6 kilos and is found in the tropical dry forest. Cats and dogs love eating them and there are 450 such iguanas left.
Lacoste’s crocodile logo can be seen on the back of these 1,775 shirts and the company wants to raise awareness of people towards nature with this decision.
