Shakti Upadhyay has stepped down from his role as Head of Marketing and PR at Kia India, marking the conclusion of a seven-year tenure with the automaker.
He has been responsible for launching the Kia brand in India, establishing the company’s marketing and PR vision, and leading campaigns across products including Seltos, Sonet, Carnival, Carens and the EV6.
He has posted on his LinkedIn profile that Kia was never just work but family, faith and a dream carried together, adding that what stays forever is not what was achieved but the people they became together. Expressing gratitude, he has said that he will carry with him the bonds, belief and the spirit of “Movement that Inspires.”
Prior to this, he worked with Samsung Electronics where he was Head of Marketing Communications from March 2015 to March 2018, Senior Manager Marketing from April 2013 to February 2015 and Manager Marketing from April 2010 to March 2013.
He began his career with Hyundai Motor India, holding roles as Deputy Manager Marketing from April 2009 to March 2010 and Brand Manager from January 2006 to March 2009. He has also been an Advertising Specialist at Enterprise Nexus Communications from December 2004 to December 2005.
