JioHotstar has been experiencing a major outage across India, with several users reporting technical glitches and missing features on the platform. Many users have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to complain about being unable to find the search icon or access shows and movies on the app.
As per reports, the outage has affected both mobile and web versions of JioHotstar. While some users have noted the disappearance of the search option, others have encountered the “Something went wrong” and “Network error” messages while attempting to stream content.
When tested by this publication, the mobile app indeed showed the missing search icon and failed to play videos, displaying the message: “Unable to connect to JioHotstar. There could be a problem with your network connection.” However, the web version retained the search option but also displayed playback errors.
The platform has not yet issued an official statement addressing the outage. Meanwhile, users continue to flood JioHotstar’s social media handles with complaints about the disruption.
