Indian Made Perfume ‘Vikas Khanna By Zighrana’ Launched In New York

India, the land of olfactory gratification, has been famous in the world, with attars, incense and aromatherapy existing since time immemorial. Ayurveda, has recommended the use of herbs and oils not just for treating various diseases but also for the overall physical and mental well-being of an individual. Today, India contributes approximately $500 million to the $ 24.10 billion global fragrance and flavor industry.

Coming to the latest happening in the perfume industry. An Indian perfume from the perfume capital of India, Kannauj, was launched in New York as a part of the ‘Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ programme, on 14th February 2022. Named “Vikas Khanna by Zighrana”, it was launched by the Consulate General of India, Randhir Jaiswal.

The ‘Made in India’ perfume launched by Zighrana carries the essence of India. With a blend of Indian spices like cloves, cardamom, nutmeg, sandalwood, jasmine, and rose, its unique formulation, is enough to leave the user spellbound. The pure rose oil used in the perfume, is a work of intense labour and requires capital. Zighrana now plans to introduce a new perfume dedicated to the hometown of CEO Swapnil Pathak Sharma.

“Hailing from Kannauj, the perfume capital of India, situated close to the cradle of our civilization the holy and pure mother river Ganga, this new product is our humble attempt to capture the essence of incredible India. Incidentally, the parent company of Zighrana has a family history of creating fragrances since 1911″, states a press release from the company.

Delighted to be associated with Zighrana, culinary icon Vikas Khanna says, that since he moved to the US in 2000, his mission is “to bring Indian Culture, Cuisine, Arts & history with me. I’m completely dedicated to choose projects that represent those values. Proud to bring the legacy of #Kannauj India’s perfume capital in form of #VikasKhannaByZighrana.”

Zighrana plans to bring traditional attars to the US and explore market opportunities in the scented candles market too.
