Shiva Krishnamurthy has joined General Mills India as Chief Executive Officer, where he has taken charge of leading the company’s overall business strategy, operations, and growth agenda in the Indian market.
Krishnamurthy has confirmed the appointment through an update on his LinkedIn profile, where he has reflected his move to General Mills India and his current designation as CEO.
Prior to joining General Mills India, Krishnamurthy has spent over 25 years at Hindustan Unilever (HUL), part of the global Unilever group, where he most recently served as Executive Director, Foods and Refreshment, from April 2024 to January 2026.
Before this, he held the role of Vice President, Tea, Coffee and Foods at Hindustan Unilever from January 2015 to March 2024, progressing through multiple leadership positions including General Manager – Tea, Vice President – Tea and Foods, and Vice President – Tea, Coffee and Foods. During this period, he has led India’s market-leading Foods and Beverages business, delivering significant growth across tea, coffee, and foods portfolios while holding full P&L responsibility.
Earlier in his career, Krishnamurthy has served as Regional Brand Director, Beverages, South Asia at Unilever from January 2011 to December 2014. Between September 2008 and December 2010, he worked as Regional Brand Manager, Fabric Cleaning, Southeast Asia, based in Singapore, managing Unilever’s fabric cleaning portfolio across Thailand, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
He has also held the role of Regional Brand Manager, Beverages, South Asia from September 2006 to August 2008, leading the first-ever pan–South Asia beverages relaunch. Earlier, from March 2004 to August 2006, he has been Senior Brand Manager, Skin Cleansing, India.
Krishnamurthy began his career at HUL as Area Sales Manager, Detergents, West Bengal, from August 2000 to February 2004, gaining frontline experience in sales and distribution and receiving the HUL Detergents’ Director Award for delivering the highest growth.
