Google announced that Gemini for TV is starting to roll out to the Google TV Streamer over the next few weeks.
This upgrade replaces Google Assistant and allows users to interact more naturally using voice commands. For example: “I like dramas but my wife likes comedies. What’s a movie we can watch together?” or “What happened at the end of ‘Outlander’ last season?”
Gemini for TV also offers broader use-cases beyond streaming. Viewers can ask questions like “Explain why volcanoes erupt to my third grader” or get support for DIY tasks or recipes with relevant YouTube videos.
The experience is optimised for large-screen viewing and is available in select countries, languages, and for users aged 18 and above.
