Google has appointed Ragini Das as the Head of Google for Startups, India. In her new role, she will lead the company’s efforts to support India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by connecting founders with the right people, products, and best practices to help them scale.
Das has shared this update on LinkedIn, expressing her excitement about the new role. “Life has come full circle, and I’m excited to share that I’ve joined Google as Head of Google for Startups – India,” she wrote. Reflecting on her journey from her first interview at Google in 2013 to now leading its startup arm in India, she described the move as “destiny.” Das also spoke about her previous venture, leap.club, calling it her most defining chapter and emphasizing her passion for supporting founders tackling India’s biggest challenges.
Prior to this appointment, Das has co-founded leap.club, where she worked from January 2020 to June 2025. Before that, she spent over six years at Zomato from April 2014 to December 2019 in multiple roles, starting as a Sales and Marketing Manager in Hyderabad, moving up to Key Accounts Manager in Bengaluru, and later serving as Area Sales Manager and Global Growth Lead for Zomato Gold in Gurugram.
Earlier in her career, Das was part of Trident Group India from June 2012 to May 2013, where she handled key account management for global clients such as Ralph Lauren and JC Penney and worked across domestic and international marketing functions. Her extensive experience across startups, growth marketing, and leadership now culminates in her new chapter at Google, where she will lead the mission of fostering thriving startups across India.
