Dhruv Dhawan has stepped down from his role at Disney+ Hotstar on March 31, 2025 to join The Trade Desk as Vice President, Revenue for India. He announced the move via a LinkedIn post.
During his tenure at Disney+ Hotstar, Dhawan led business and operations for Live Sports and Entertainment. He played a key role in managing the platform’s freemium user model, diving deep into content P&L, and navigating the evolving synergy between linear television and digital streaming.
In his farewell note, Dhawan expressed gratitude to his colleagues and leaders — including Ajit Varghese, Sajith Sivanandan, Rishi Gaind, and Kevin Vaz — calling the experience “truly grateful.”
Joining The Trade Desk at a time when India’s open internet ecosystem is witnessing a surge in digital advertising opportunities, Dhawan will work alongside Tejinder Gill and the India team to deepen partnerships and drive revenue growth.
“I’m super stoked and excited to begin the new chapter,” Dhawan wrote in his announcement. “The Trade Desk is uniquely placed to help marketers navigate this dynamic digital world and make a real impact.”
His appointment strengthens The Trade Desk’s leadership bench in India as the company accelerates its efforts in programmatic advertising.
Before his stints at Jiostar and now The Trade Desk, Dhawan held leadership roles at Google, Bharti Airtel, and Accenture.
