Dentsu India Appoints Zee5’s Abhirup Datta As CEO- Performance Media Solutions

After being associated with ZEE5 as Head- AVOD Marketing and YouTube Revenue for about three-and-a-half years, Abhirup Dutta has now joined Dentsu India as CEO- Performance Media Solutions. Reporting to Dentsu South Asia’s Anita Kotwani, he will lead Dentsu Performance 2.0 and drive significant sales growth for Sokrati.

Dentsu India Appoints Zee5’s Abhirup Datta As CEO- Performance Media Solutions

Dentsu India has appointed former Zee5 Head- AVOD Marketing and YouTube Revenue, Abhirup Datta as the new Chief Executive Officer of Performance Media Solutions to accelerate and bolster the network’s performance marketing capabilities.

In his new role at Dentsu India, he will be responsible for leading Dentsu Performance 2.0, the network agency’s latest offerings which represents a revolutionary shift in performance marketing, integrating AI, advanced data analytics, and automation for transformative outcomes.

His primary focus at Dentsu’s Performance Media Solutions will be to drive sales growth at Sokrati, expanding market presence, delivering innovative go-to-market strategies, and achieving exceptional client growth, in alignment with Dentsu’s global vision.

Towards this objective, he will be collaborating closely with Nilesh Gohil, President of Performance Practice and CEO of Sokrati and will report to Anita Kotwani, CEO Media South Asia. And together, Datta and Gohil will ensure Sokrati’s continued performance marketing success.

His appointment, as per Dentsu India, underscores the network agency’s commitment to exceptional client outcomes in performance marketing and this practice embodies Dentsu’s commitment to ‘Innovate to Impact,’ positioning the network as a comprehensive growth partner delivering scalable and flexible solutions for regional and global clients.

With over 20 years of experience across retail, telecom, travel, and media, Datta brings with him his expertise in scaling businesses and driving revenue growth.

Previously, he also worked with Disney Star, TUI India, HT Media, and Bharti Retail and Bharti Airtel.
