| Published on May 2, 2019

India and its love for cricket is one epic love story that may go down in the books of history some day!

With the cricket fever at its peak with the ongoing IPL, brands seem to be making big with their advertising.

When it comes to cricket, how could we possibly forget Dream11! Dream11 successfully managed to remain at the top of the list of most recalled sponsors/advertisers in this season of IPL with only a slight drop in the fifth week. Whereas, Vivo managed to have a high recall throughout by starting out on top in the first week and gradually increasing its scores. Though Vivo saw decline in the fourth week, it surely picked up again in the fifth week again.

As for other brands likes Swiggy, Hotstar and Paytm, they have successfully registered a high recall as the season draws to a close. While on one hand Swiggy has improved its recall week-on week and is actually at par with Vivo and Dream 11 in terms of recollection by people.

On the other hand Paytm recorded a good start, towards the fifth week it saw a slight drop in recall, while Hotstar saw a slight drop in the middle but picked up in the fifth week of IPL.

Talk about IPL and not the teams is totally unfair!

YouGov has been tracking the excitement and expectations of cricket enthusiasts, week-on-week, even since the IPL season commenced this year.

Chennai Super Kings who have time and again proved to be the ultimate winners of the league with their performance are still going strong. CSK fans are rooting high for their team and are surely expecting the trophy for the season to come their way.

As for other teams, Mumbai Indians who placed in third in the first week has moved up the list, as the second most likely team to win IPL 2019.

While Delhi Capitals, the underdogs of the season have reserved their seat in the qualifier round along with CSK lesser people are hopeful of them winning the trophy.

On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders, which was believed by people to be the second best contender for the coveted trophy, has seen a decline in its popularity, and has slipped to fourth by the end of the fifth week.

The Sunrisers Hyderabad is at fifth, Kings XI Punjab at seventh and Rajasthan Royals sits at the bottom of the list of teams likely to be champions this year.

However, the team that witnessed considerable downfall in this season is Royal Challengers Bangalore. Although some people had high expectations from the team at the start of the season, seems like fans are disappointed with their performance and have lost confidence in the team.

Surely it’s just not the season of mangoes, it’s the cricket season! IPL will soon have it’s final in the mid of this month making way for World Cup 2019!
