The COVID19 lockdown has hit pretty hard in the country. Though the lockdown is the only practical way to stop the spread, it is having its setbacks. People are struggling to stay in and can be seen breaking the quarantine and roaming about on the road.
Even though the government is taking the necessary measures to assure that nobody breaches the lockdown, netizens have found their way to keep themselves entertained during the period. On a lighter note, people have been using social media challenges to keep themselves entertained and occupied. And how are they doing so? Well, we are a country of over 1.2 billion people and therefore 1.2 billion ideas.
For starters, there has been an array of challenges that one can take up. From whipping the perfect coffee to looking ‘Oh So Pretty!’ in a Saree, the lockdown has seen a variety of challenges that we bring you today.
Saree challenge
#sareechallenge was more of a women-centric challenge. The challenge required you to post a picture of yourself in a traditional saree and tag your friends who would have to do the same. As fas as the men were concerned, well they also found a way to participate by starting a Dhoti Challenge with similar rules.

From celebs to the aam Janta, everyone could be seen taking part in the challenge.
Instagram Template Challenge
An old challenge that gained its fame again during the lockdown, Bingo was seen on almost every IG Story. In this, a user posts a questionnaire template from Instagram and answers these questions using gifs or stickers. After answering, you are required to tag your friends and pass on the challenge.
Dalgona Coffee Challenge
Dalgona coffee is originally a South Korean beverage made by whipping equal proportions of instant coffee, sugar, and hot water until it becomes creamy and then adding it to cold or hot milk. Occasionally, it is topped with coffee powder, cocoa, crumbled biscuits, or honey. The challenge quickly became the new quarantine fad and people all over the world were seen posting a picture of their version.

Safe Hands Challenge
The World Health Organisation (WHO) launched the social media campaign #safehands challenge in an attempt to urge people to practice hygienic hand washing techniques to tackle the coronavirus outbreak. Soon, celebrities and famous social media personalities took up the challenge and posted videos of them washing their hands for 20 seconds.
