Bacardi India’s Ayaesha Gooptu Joins FINO Tequila As Country Head- India

FINO Tequila has onboarded Ayaesha Gooptu as its Country Head for India. Before this, she served as Head of Domestic Spirits at Bacardi in India.

Bacardi India’s Ayaesha Gooptu Joins FINO Tequila As Country Head- India

FINO Tequila, co-owned by Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh, has appointed Ayaesha Gooptu as the Country Head- India. In her new role, Gooptu will be responsible for overseeing FINO’s business operations in India, developing and implementing market strategies, and strengthening the brand’s presence across key markets in the country.

This strategic appointment comes as FINO continues its expansion in the Indian market. With a career spanning over 19 years in the FMCG and Alcobev sectors, Gooptu brings extensive expertise in brand development, product innovation, and strategic communication to FINO Tequila. Her appointment underscores FINO’s commitment to establishing a strong foothold in India’s premium spirits segment.

Prior to joining FINO, Gooptu held pivotal roles at Bacardi India, where she served as the Head of Domestic Spirits and Ready-to-Drink (RTD) divisions. During her tenure at Bacardi, she successfully launched LEGACY Premium Whisky, Bacardi’s first made-in-India whisky innovation, and spearheaded operations for Breezer, India’s leading RTD brand. Her strategic initiatives helped strengthen Bacardi’s portfolio, drive category growth, and deepen consumer loyalty in a competitive marketplace.

Earlier in her career, she also made significant contributions at PepsiCo, where she rose to the role of Associate Director. At PepsiCo, she successfully led some of India’s most iconic consumer brands including Pepsi, Lays, Kurkure, and Tropicana, sharpening her expertise in brand management and large-scale consumer marketing.

The premium spirits category in India presents immense opportunities, and I look forward to leveraging my experience to establish FINO as the preferred tequila brand among Indian consumers. Our vision is to introduce Indian consumers to authentic tequila experiences while creating a distinct identity that resonates with the aspirational Indian consumer,” Gooptu said.
