B Ramanathan Returns To Ogilvy India From Ogilvy Asia Pacific As Its New Chief Client Officer

After being associated with Ogilvy Asia Pacific As CMO for the past two years, B Ramanathan has now returned to his Indian roots and joined Ogilvy India as Chief Client Officer. This is his 24th year with the agency.

B Ramanathan Returns To Ogilvy India From Ogilvy Asia Pacific As Its New Chief Client Officer

Having joined Ogilvy about 24 years back, B Ramanathan, who had been serving the role of Chief Marketing Officer at Ogilvy Asia Pacific and Global Brand Leader- Mondelez for the past two years , has returned to his Indian roots once again and reunited with Ogilvy India as its new Chief Client Officer.

Of his more than two decade long association with Ogilvy, Ramanathan has donned many hats and has spent over 16 years serving across various business and office leadership roles.

Before assuming the role of CMO at Ogilvy Asia Pacific in August 2022, he was the Group CEO at Ogilvy Indonesia from January 2019 to August 2022.

Prior to that, he was associated with Bates CHI&Partners from June 2016 to January 2019.

In his earlier stint with Ogilvy & Mather Advertising (Mumbai), he served the role of VP and Head of Office from February 2009 to February 2011 and then advanced to the role of Managing Partner in February 2011 and went on to serve the same till June 2016.

Before joining the agency’s Mumbai office, he was associated with Ogilvy & Mather Advertising (Chennai) from June 2000 and January 2009.

In the past, he also worked with Rediffusion DY&R and RK Swamy/BBDO.

Upon reuniting with Ogilvy India as Chief Client Officer, B Ramanathan, said, “It feels great to be back at the mothership, especially at a time when it is going through a purple patch. With the repertoire of marquee clients, I look forward to partnering with our fantastic teams across markets in delivering transformative work and growth for the businesses.”

Commenting on the development, VR Rajesh, Group CEO, Ogilvy India, said, “Ogilvy India’s growth has been on the back of client centricity and depth of engagement and Ram’s return adds fillip to this core strength. He will focus on our top clients in bringing to bear the best of Ogilvy’s capabilities, driving transformation and growth of the businesses.
