Fintech startup Aspora has appointed Varun Sridhar as CEO of its Wealth and Lending business. He has taken on the responsibility of building Aspora’s financial services offerings focused on global Indians and NRIs, aiming to scale the company’s presence across international markets.
Sridhar has shared the update on LinkedIn by reposting Aspora’s announcement and has expressed excitement about the journey ahead with the company.
Prior to joining Aspora, Sridhar has spent more than two decades working across global banks, fintechs and consumer finance businesses. Most recently, he has served as CEO – Paytm Services from June 2024 to September 2025 in Delhi, and before that, as CEO – Paytm Money from July 2020 to June 2024 in Mumbai and Bangalore, where he has scaled the platform into a top player in India’s broking ecosystem. He has also led FinShell India as CEO from April 2019 to July 2020, driving the launch of realme PaySa.
Earlier in his career, he has worked with BNP Paribas in multiple leadership roles across India, France and Egypt from August 2011 to March 2019, including leading Sharekhan’s integration and transformation post-acquisition. He has also been associated with Value Partners in Dubai as Consultant from June 2009 to July 2011, Deutsche Bank as National Channel Head – Mobile Sales Force from November 2006 to September 2008 in Delhi and Bangalore, and Citibank in personal loans roles from October 2003 to October 2006. He began his professional journey at ConvergeLabs Software Technologies in October 2001.
