Apple has decided to hire employees from an Indian engineering college this year. It is the first time this tech giant is coming to India for campus recruitment. Placements for Apple will be held in International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad. Around 350 students from BTech, BE, MTech, and MSc has registered for this historical placement drive.
TV Devi Prasad, head of placements at IIIT Hyderabad said about this to TOI,”We are elated that Apple has decided to come for our campus placements this year. We are not sure of the kind of profiles that the company will be offering. However, it will provide an opportunity to the graduating students to showcase their skills before representatives of the firm,”
Big tech corporates like Microsoft, Google and Philips are also coming to IIT-H this year. IIIT-H has seen a great rise in companies hiring for artificial intelligence (AI), data science, automation from last few years.
Apple CEO Tim Cook said that “We are investing in India…we’ve already launched an app accelerator center. That’s on top of working with the channel and looking at expanding our go-to-market in general,”
This is a very optimistic news for India and the engineering students of our country.
