A lot many thoughts and memories flood our minds when we say the word – ‘Jeep’. Mahindra & Mahindra have been selling them since 1960, and recently, Anand Mahindra remembered this good old vehicle and tweeted on the same.
A good friend, whose family has been distributing our vehicles for decades fished this out from their archives. Aaah the good old days…when prices headed in the right direction! pic.twitter.com/V69sMaM98X

The CEO of Mahindra Motors, shared an old print advertisement on Sunday, of a Willys CJ 3B Jeep which was then worth INR 12,421. The ad was printed in the 1960s to announce a discount of INR 200 on the vehicle.
Anand Mahindra expressed his delight on sharing the picture and reminiscing about the old jeep. Today a jeep can cost you more than INR 4.5 lakhs. Thar jeeps are even costlier, say around INR 12-15 lakhs. Compared to the current prices, the jeep in the 1960s looked like a steal.
His tweet garnered a lot of responses. Some jokingly asked whether can the vehicle be availed at the same price today.
Very good price. Can we still avail?

To which, Anand Mahindra had a hilarious response, saying “I’m trying to figure out which of our accessories you can buy with this amount today!”
Someone asked Anand Mahindra to book two vehicles at the price of 12k. To this as well, Anand Mahindra had the best response.
Well you could buy 10 cars for that much; except they’re Thar die-cast toy collectibles…! https://t.co/HtvBzMpI6U pic.twitter.com/JsZEyvt6sb

His tweet also prodded many to share their stories and relive memories about their jeep experiences.
We used to take this beauty to college till 90. My friend had one. Once on Kemps Corner bridge a car banged from behind. Nothing happened to our Willys but the poor guy must have spent a good amount to get his bonnet in place.😊
