While we all know how active Anand Mahindra is on social media, what is also seen is his drive to encourage small-time entrepreneurs and new emerging talent.
A few weeks back, he helped an 85-year-old woman aka Idli Amma from the south of India, he also praised a person for his balancing skills that went viral in a video, calling him a human segway. He also hailed a café in Gurez Valley which is run by the Indian army, in one of his posts. And this time, it is Geeta Patil’s efforts which have caught his eye, and his praise.
Geeta Patil owns a snack shop by the name ‘Patil Kaki’. She makes and delivers homemade Maharashtrian delicacies and treats like chakli, ukadiche modak, and the versatile Puran Poli. Along with these, Patil Kaki also offers methi and protein laddus with makhanas.
While Geeta Patil learned cooking from her mother, little did she know how useful it would be for her in life. In 2016, her husband lost his job as a clerk in a dental laboratory. And that’s when she decided to step into business, mostly to support her children’s education and family needs.
With her son Vineet stepping into business in 2021, fortune favored her. Using social media to her advantage, she now rings in INR 1.4 crore every year, earning around 3000 orders per month. What started
with one woman, Patil Kaki now employs 25 workers, with over 75% of the workforce being women.
And recently this caught the attention of Padma award recipient and industrialist Anand Mahindra, who on his Twitter handle lauded Geeta’s efforts.
This is the kind of ‘food’ startup that truly deserves a soaring valuation. Because the ingredients are grit & determination…you can’t learn that in

His tweet garnered more than 8.3k likes and has been re-tweeted more than 850 times. His post garnered much love and appreciation from netizens.
Now this needs branding so that the product can be reached to every corner of the nation and abroad as well. https://t.co/4ePYMdLIki
