Amazon Prime Video is set to implement password-sharing restrictions in India starting in 2025, following a similar move by streaming giant Netflix.
As per reports, starting in 2025, Amazon Prime Video members will be allowed to log in on up to five devices, which can include a maximum of two TVs.
“As part of your Prime membership, you and your household are entitled to enjoy Prime Video on up to five devices. Starting January 2025, we are updating our usage terms in India to include up to two TVs as part of your five devices entitlement. You can manage your devices on your Settings page or buy another Prime membership to watch Prime Video on more devices,” an email sent to Amazon Prime subscribers read, as per reports.
Amazon Prime members can now log in on up to 10 devices without any additional sub-limits. However, while Prime Video allows streaming on up to 5 devices simultaneously, the restriction of connecting no more than 2 TVs at once may pose a challenge for some users.
The Amazon Prime annual subscription is currently available for Rs 1,499, offering benefits like Prime Video, Amazon services, free deliveries, and more. Additionally, the quarterly and monthly subscription plans are priced at Rs 599 and Rs 299, respectively.
