Akila Jayaraman has been appointed to the Amazon Ads India LCS team in her new role as Head, Agency Partnerships. In this role, she has been leading agency partnerships for Amazon Ads India across media, e-commerce, Amazon DSP and full-funnel advertising solutions. She has been responsible for enabling agencies and brands to connect brand building with performance through customer-first insights, while strengthening collaboration across the advertising ecosystem.
The appointment has been shared on LinkedIn by Gulshan Verma, Director, Amazon Ads. Jayaraman has also updated her LinkedIn profile to reflect the new role, marking her transition to Amazon Ads India in January 2026.
Prior to joining Amazon Ads India, Jayaraman was associated with JioAds for nearly four years. From June 2025 to January 2026, she served as Head GTM Strategy & Marketing and Business Head – Ecommerce Ads at JioAds in Delhi. Alongside this, she headed GTM, product marketing and marketing for JioAds.
Earlier, between February 2022 and January 2026, she held the role of Head GTM Strategy and Marketing at JioAds. During the same period, from February 2022 to February 2024, she also worked as Head Sales Strategy, focusing on building Jio platforms as a leading digital media advertising proposition in the country.
Before JioAds, Jayaraman was Vice President at Cheil India from November 2020 to January 2022, based in Gurugram.
She previously spent over three years at Essence. From July 2019 to November 2020, she served as Associate Vice President. Prior to that, from July 2017 to June 2019, she was Senior Director at Essence, acting as portfolio and integrated discipline lead on app marketing for clients in India.
Between April 2015 and June 2017, Jayaraman worked at Madhouse as Director – Performance Marketing. She earlier spent over three years at Comviva Technologies from October 2011 to March 2015 as Head – Sales and Business Development for Bharti Airtel, leading sales, account management and new business development for Airtel properties across South Asia.
Her early career includes a stint at Ericsson India from June 2008 to October 2011 as Analyst, ConsumerLab and User Experience, where she focused on consumer insights around mobile services, data and broadband, and translated research into business strategy. She began her professional journey at Feedback Business Consulting, working as Senior Executive from June 2004 to May 2008, gaining experience across market research, customer satisfaction studies and business development
