As it continues to innovate and expand its offerings in the competitive landscape of educational services, Aakash Educational Services has appointed Deepak Mehrotra, who had been with Astral Pipes’ Managing Director for the past more than five years, as its Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
In his new role, Mehrotra will be a part of AESL’s strategic vision to enhance its offerings, expand its reach, and create a positive impact on the education landscape. The company remains dedicated to fostering a culture of learning, growth, and innovation, with a focus on preparing students for success in their academic and professional endeavours.
From July 2018 to September 2023, he was responsible for managing the business at Ashirvad Pipes and therefore focused on building capabilities for accelerated growth leading to doubling of business in four years, to serve customers in the Building, Agriculture, Infrastructure, and Industrial segment. This was in the aftermath of Aliaxis India acquiring Ashirvad Pipes.
Prior to July 2018, he served as Director- Ashirwad Pipes and Aliaxis India for a period of nine months, starting October 2017, wherein he was responsible for planning and managing the post-acquisition transition at Ashirvad Pipes.
Before joining Aliaxis, Mehrotra was the Managing Director of Pearson India for a period of more than four years, starting October 2013.
For the two years ended October 2013, he was associated with Micromax Informatics in the capacity of CEO.
He also worked in Bharti Airtel for a period of more than eight years. He joined the telecom company in November 2003 as CEO- Karnataka Circle and was elevated to the role of Executive Director- Mobile Services in March 2007.
From 1998 to 2003, he served the role of Regional Vice President at Coca Cola India and a decade, working in the capacity of Regional Sales Manager at Asian Paints.
