Look How These 6 Bollywood Promotions Created Buzz All Around With Creative Marketing Strategies!

To make a film successful in Bollywood not only a good script is needed but a good bollywood promotion too. Gone are those days when industry was just about glitz and glam. Nowadays more work is done in marketing and promotion part as the shrewd minds work day and night coming up with ideas that may catch the attention of audience. Age-old methods of creating rumours still exist but recent years have witnessed some mind boggling ideas. The budget for marketing in the past years has only witnessed an upwards graph, ever increasing.

Let’s have a look at some promotion and marketing ideas in bollywood over the years that have actually benefitted the film and created buzz all around .

1. Ghajini

In-cinema advertisements are very irritating when you go to a multiplex to enjoy a movie. It’s limited to some upcoming movie slides and some adverts. But Ghajini did use a new method intervening in the In-ad commercials of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. They tied up with leading multiplexes in Mumbai wherein the staff was seen sporting the famous Ghajini hairstyle. So people going to watch SRK starrer movie got a glimpse of what is going to get released after one month.

2. Don 2

Don was already a trademark movie with its unique and catchy dialogues but the team of the film went too far to use this weapon to attract the Audience. They started a whole new show ‘Don Says’, which featured videos of the Bollywood star SRK narrating some famous dialogues. This was well received by the audience and became a huge hit.
Some dialogues used were:

– Don ke dushman ko hamesha yeh baat yaad rakhni chahiye…ke Don kabhi kuch nahi bhulta.
– Takat ek nasha hai, aur main uss nasha banane wali factory ka ek lauta malik hoon.
– Mujhe logon ka khoon karne ka koi shauq nahi…wohi mujhe majbur kar dete hai.
– Bathroom branding in famous theatres
– Don kabhi koi sabot nahin chodta – Please Flush
– Jo apni maa ki izzat nahi karta uska baap banke aata hun

3. 3 Idiots

This movie is now a superhit but the makers never left any stones unturned to promote it. We all know how much Aamir Khan’s perfection always urges him to make good movies and characters and he is also a step ahead in promotions. He actually went missing before  the release of the movie. A prize was announced for whoever located him and he involved his friend and cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, who happily agreed to be a part of the promotional campaign. He was seeing roaming in different looks in different parts of the country.

4. The Dirty Picture

One of the most famous dialogues in this film was ‘ Entertainment, Entertainment, Entertainment and along with it Vidya Balan’s red saree avatar. It went viral and the team grabbed the market by using this idea. The actress was seen in various shows and reality wearing the same red saree and using same dialogues. The film got a huge opening and it was worth it.

5. Aashiqui 2

The biggest musical hit starring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Rao created buzz all over the country. A mannequin resembling the Aashiqui 2 couple was placed on a seat in select theatres in Mumbai . The couple were in the Aashiqui 2 pose with branding done on the jackets about the release date of the film. This activity was carried on in screens where ‘Ek thi Daayan’ was showcased since Aashiqui 2 was releasing a week later.

6. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

A movie depicting friendships and reunions. The actors took the plot and did the needful for the promotions. Actors Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar, Abhay Deol, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin decided to go on an adventure trip in Mumbai and Delhi as part of their promotions. The road trip started from Mumbai – Bandra, and they drove through various cities stopping at different spots. The actors did the driving bit themselves for most part of the trip to get a raw feeling and the media travelled with them.

There are several other examples where nowadays the makers use catchy titles, rumours and use social media platforms to promote their films. Bollywood is coming up with new ideas each day and may be upcoming years will witness more unique methods of promotions.

Mother Dairy is targeting a 20% increase in revenue to over Rs 24,000 crore in FY27, backed by rising consumer demand and plans to expand into new markets, according to media reports. As per media reports, the dairy major recorded a turnover of Rs 20,300 crore in FY26, up 17% year-on-year. The company has more than doubled its revenue over the last five years, crossing the Rs 20,000-crore milestone. As part of its growth strategy, Mother Dairy is looking to strengthen its presence outside Delhi-NCR. Chairman Meenesh Shah said the company is exploring entry into new markets where it currently has limited or no presence. The company is also setting up a dairy plant in Maharashtra, has leased a facility in Hyderabad, and is establishing a second plant in Bihar. Managing Director Jayateertha Chary said sales in the first two months of the fiscal have been encouraging, with ice cream emerging as a strong-performing category. Reports also suggest that from Mother Dairy’s FY26 turnover, the dairy business contributed more than Rs 15,000 crore, while edible oils and horticulture accounted for around Rs 5,000 crore. Around 63% of revenue came from Delhi-NCR, with the remainder generated from other parts of the country. The company currently reaches more than 95 cities across India and operates nine milk processing plants, four horticulture processing plants and 16 associated edible oil facilities.
