The past two years saw the country and the world fight against one of the worst pandemics in history, which brought about changes none would have thought of. Celebrations lacked the luster and positivity that usually came with them.
But Diwali 2022 was exceptional. And brands came up with brilliant, thoughtful, and poignant messages, all conveying ideas like celebrating the festival together and driving away darkness from others’ lives and ours.
Here is a list of seven brands that made Diwali special.
1. Tanishq
Tanishq launched its Diwali collection-Alekhya and its ad campaigns focussed on a broad view of “Pehli Diwali”. While one has her first Diwali after she establishes her startup, another one has her first Diwali after joining the air force.
The ads are emotional but convey the message of hope and optimism that is connected with every ‘first’ happening, this time being “Diwali”.
2. HP
Along with conveying the message of its initiative of supporting artisans across the country in 15 cities, the ad conveys a poignant message of how cities don’t seem to have any place for talented artists who are integral to keeping our country’s culture and tradition alive.
The ad paves the way for how we can support them, by being the light to their darkness and wings to their dreams.
3. Sabhyata
Sabhyata’s Diwali campaign went viral and is about what working women face in society . This Viral campaign created a controversy in the corporate world for hiring pregnant women .
The campaign highlights the challenges of working women and how they face discrimination at their workplace .
The campaign has received an overwhelming response on social media, especially on Instagram and LinkedIn – a networking platform for working professionals. We hope to see more brands join hands and take up issues that matter instead of promoting their own products. For now, we can say that this meaningful ad will go a long way in encouraging working women to #RedefineCelebration by taking a stand and supporting fellow women who wish to plan a family.
4. Coca Cola
The pandemic made us resort to virtual wishes and celebrations. But this year has instilled renewed hope and vigor, compelling us to put these two years behind us.
And based on this idea, the beverage giant launched a #MilkeHiManegiDiwali campaign, that focussed on meeting old friends and new, and celebrating Diwali this year in person by encouraging feelings of closeness and warm fellowship.
5. Cadbury
Another brand that takes its CSR activities seriously. The brand created an online shop for all those hawkers, who in process of making our Diwali delightful, end up losing business as they don’t have a shop of their own and have to often move places to earn a living, this time of the year.
6. Mankind Pharma
The ad beautifully portrays their central idea “kindness resides in all of us, we just need to find it for others”. The brand urges us to let go of any animosity and celebrate Diwali together.
7. JK Cement
The latest ad from their #AndarSeSundar campaign, celebrated the spirit of the festive season, where a couple celebrating their first Diwali post-marriage makes sure that the painter making their house beautiful, reaches in time for his Diwali celebrations back home.
One of the most touching and heart-warming Diwali ads this year.
8. Ghadi detergent
A simple yet effective ad from the detergent brand. A son realizes the importance of his father’s skills while finding out that experience knows how to keep up with time.
