Forbes List Of Top Employers In The World 2021

Forbes, in partnership with market research company Statista, has recently published the World’s top employers list. And 4 companied from India have made it to the Top 100. Reliance Industries Ltd has topped Indian firms and holds the 52nd position, ICICI has come in 65th, HDFC Bank is at 77Th and HCL technologies managed to get the 90th spot. Other Indian companies like SBI, Larsen & Toubro, Infosys, Life Insurance Corporation and Tata Group too have made it to the list.

This list was compiled after inputs were received from 1,50,000 full-time and part-time employees, from 58 countries working for different multinationals and institutions. The employees jointly listed around 750 companies that they would recommend to their friends and family. They rated companies on the basis of image, gender equality, talent development etc. The surveys were anonymous and employees were also asked to evaluate other employers in their sector, which they could associate either positively or negatively.
Let’s take a look at the top seven employer’s this year.

1. Samsung


South Korean electronics giant has been voted the numero uno employer in the world. It currently employs around 1.1 lakh employees around the world. The company experienced a lot of ups and downs in the past year due to the pandemic but it managed to rise against all odds every time.

2. IBM

United States’ IT giant IBM, employing around 3.75 lakh employees across all its branches has been magnanimously voted the second-best employer title

3. Microsoft


With 1,63,000 employees around the world, Microsoft has become the third best employer.

4. Amazon


Despite racial and pregnancy discrimination allegations as well as problems of pay inequities, Amazon still managed to grab the fourth best employer title.

5. Apple


Apple employs 1,47,000 employees and is the 5th top employer in the world

6. Alphabet


Google’s parent company has 1,35,301 individuals working for it.

7. Dell Technologies


This American Multinational computer technology company has been voted the seventh best company to work in.

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei came in eight, followed by Adobe and BMW.

Few other Indian companies included in the list were Bajaj at 215th position, ONGC at 404th position, ITC coming in at 453rd spot and Bank Of Baroda at 496th spot. Some other top employers in the list from around the world include Adidas, Dr Oetker, Ford Motor, Oracle and Daimler, to name a few.

According to Damu McCoy, vice president of talent acquisition at Target, a company voted the 25th best employer in the world, employees are surely motivated by the perquisites received at their workplace. But they don’t stay just because they receive a certain amount of pay, but because they are inspired by the people they work around with and their belief in the organization.
