Twitter User Shares Importance Of Having A ‘Boring’ 9-5 Job & Netizens Cant’ Agree More

The internet is full of many amazing success stories of entrepreneurs who’ve built a startup after quitting their well-paying corporate jobs. It’s stories like these that inspire people to start a business of their own. Many entrepreneurs have got themselves featured in leading business magazines.

Many even feel the urge to quit their well-paying 9-5 jobs in the process of becoming an entrepreneur as quickly as possible.

And no wonder, looking at the drastic lifestyle changes these entrepreneurs have along with getting national and international recognition, it becomes more appealing to just jump in. But it is also true that not all who quit their jobs end up having a successful startup. Sadly, the majority of them fail to succeed in their projects.

Surrounded on this tone, a recent social media conversation is enlightening people that having a monotonous 9-5 job is not so bad after all.

While there are many memes and posts that paint a picture of having a regular job as not an exciting way to fulfill your dreams, a Twitter thread is here to address the myth.

And 👆 is a 100% serious tweet that I mean seriously from my heart and fully believe in.🎯

Anupam Gupta, a Twitter user’s one statement caused a stir on social media and many people poured in their thoughts and feelings on the matter.

Surprisingly, most of the retweets were in support of a regular job concept. Many people took the liberty to highlight the pros of having a secured, well-paying job.

I’ve worked with multiple people who made more money than a lot of startup founders just from ESOPs. People forget that 99% of the startups fail.

P.S. I co-founded a startup, raised angel investment and had to shut it down later.

Media Projects 1% , focuses on them, magnifies them to 100 , people believe these 1% as the 100% who competed , & all of them succeeded. This sends out a feeling that anyone can succeed , so just stop thinking, just start. Media ignores the failed 99% .

True words .
2 months I sat at home without job(first time in 7 years) made me realised importance of a boring reliable well paying job .
Excitement and aspirations do not pay bills .
Having a backup plan is always a must , especially if you have a family that depends on you .

— DNK (@DNK110018) July 21, 2021

Truth! And not everyone is in a position to take on the risk of the alternatives (mental, social, physical, monetary, etc.)

— Annie (she/her) (@anniejacks) July 21, 2021

When you have bills to pay and mouths to feed. Absolutely.
When you know your temperament. Certainly.
When you have nothing, literally nothing, to fall back upon. Unconditionally.

Advantage of salaried professional over trading:

1. Regular income no drawdown
2.forced retirement corpus
3. Supports family with mediclaim
4. Keeps you disciplined 9/5 job
5. Enjoy paid holidays and sick leaves
6. Can get loans from bank for major milestones.
7. Peace of mind

— Prashant Birajdar (@pcbirajdar) July 22, 2021

Legit. I seldom get requests from all walks of life to get into Photography, Specially IT Professional who keep saying I hate Desk Job, I tell them never to quit their well paying Job. ” I hate Desk Job or I hate 9 to 5 Job ” is more of a Fashion Statement.

Mother Dairy is targeting a 20% increase in revenue to over Rs 24,000 crore in FY27, backed by rising consumer demand and plans to expand into new markets, according to media reports. As per media reports, the dairy major recorded a turnover of Rs 20,300 crore in FY26, up 17% year-on-year. The company has more than doubled its revenue over the last five years, crossing the Rs 20,000-crore milestone. As part of its growth strategy, Mother Dairy is looking to strengthen its presence outside Delhi-NCR. Chairman Meenesh Shah said the company is exploring entry into new markets where it currently has limited or no presence. The company is also setting up a dairy plant in Maharashtra, has leased a facility in Hyderabad, and is establishing a second plant in Bihar. Managing Director Jayateertha Chary said sales in the first two months of the fiscal have been encouraging, with ice cream emerging as a strong-performing category. Reports also suggest that from Mother Dairy’s FY26 turnover, the dairy business contributed more than Rs 15,000 crore, while edible oils and horticulture accounted for around Rs 5,000 crore. Around 63% of revenue came from Delhi-NCR, with the remainder generated from other parts of the country. The company currently reaches more than 95 cities across India and operates nine milk processing plants, four horticulture processing plants and 16 associated edible oil facilities.
