Kotak Wealth Management, a division of Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Hurun India has announced its 2020 list of India’s 100 richest women. IT major HCL Technologies’ Roshni Nadar Malhotra has topped a list of the richest women in the country.
According to the report, Roshni Nadar’s wealth amounts to Rs 54,850 crore. She was also India’s wealthiest woman in 2019. She also featured in The World’s 100 Most Powerful Women list in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Roshni Nadar also engages in various humanitarian initiatives. In 2018, she set up ‘The Habitats’ trust to protect India’s natural habitats and indigenous species. She is the only daughter of HCL founder Shiv Nadar.
Biocon Founder and Managing Director Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw stood in second place with a net worth of Rs 36,600 crore. Mumbai-based pharmaceutical major USV Pvt Ltd’s Chairperson Leena Gandhi Tewari, with a wealth of about Rs 21,340 crore, ranked third, according to the ‘Kotak Wealth Hurun-Leading Wealthy Women 2020’ report.
The report contains 69 wealth custodians and 31 self-made women. Divi’s Laboratories Director (Commercial) Nilima Motaparti (Rs18,620 crore) came in fourth, followed by Radha Vembu (Rs 11,590 crore), sister of Zoho founder Sridhar in the fifth slot, and cloud-networking company Arista Networks’ CEO Jayshree Ullal (Rs 10,220 crore) was ranked sixth.
Hero FinCorp Managing Director Renu Munjal (Rs 8,690 crore), Alembic Ltd Managing Director and CEO Malika Chirayu Amin (Rs 7,570 crore), and Anu Aga and Meher Pudumjee (Rs 5,850 crore) of Thermax are among others on the list.
According to the list, which is a compilation of the top 100 women wealth creators from India, the cumulative wealth of the women wealth creators stood at Rs 2,72,540 crore, while their average age was 53 years.

As per Kotak Wealth Management, the 2020 edition of the report focuses exclusively on women who play an active role in their family business, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
