In a delightful turn of events, the ECG (electrocardiogram) feature on the Apple Watch has helped in saving an Indian man from dying. This 61-year-old uses the Apple Watch Series 5 which he used to track his health after he felt unwell starting March 2020.
The man’s arrhythmia signals went off a couple of times at night which is actually a critical indication. Once he consulted with his doctor, he realized he suffered from hypertension but luckily did not have any prevailing heart conditions. The Apple Watch 5 series was gifted to him by his son who is a graduate of Harvard University and managed to work with the best companies hailing from Silicon Valley. Thanks to this gift, the ECG reading revealed he needed heart surgery immediately.
Even though the heart surgery was a little delayed due to COVID-19, The Rajhans family helped Siddharth’s dad receive treatment. Once his dad recovered, Siddharth personally wrote to Apple CEO Tim Cooke, to express his feeling of gratitude. Luckily, even Cook replied to him saying he was glad the company’s product could help his father and that the team would contact him shortly.
This is not the first time life is being saved because of the Apple Watch. Two years back, a 53-year-old based lawyer in Pune wrote to Tim Cook for the wonder that the Apple Watch was, that helped her monitor her heart rate which helped her relax and take less stress than usual. The Apple Watch can detect ECG signals and Fall Detection among many others and has so far saved many lives of the elderly. There are common deaths around the world due to rapid heartbeats that ultimately lead to a stroke. Luckily, Apple has created a magnificent product that can be gifted to your loved ones.
