One industry that has boomed exponentially due to the worldwide lockdown is- video calling & conferencing apps. Zoom is currently the most popular name in the market. Although there have been issues with it, still users are bound to install Zoom with most companies, schools and organisations favouring it.
Google Meet is another name that is working to make the most of this period. Its downloads are increasing and slowly it is being trusted by people across the world. To expand its audience, Google Meet has launched a new video ad focusing its “Free for all” feature. The campaign comes at a time when users are raising privacy concerns over Zoom.
Also, Google Meet released a blog post that shows that since January, Meet’s daily usage has grown by 30 times. The blog post focuses on privacy, security and it is hosting 3 billion minutes of video meetings while adding roughly 3 million new users every day. The post also mentions that Meet’s daily meeting participants surpassed 100 million.
Our approach to security is simple: make products safe by default. We designed Meet to operate on a secure foundation, providing the protections needed to keep our users safe, their data secure, and their information private. the post reads. You can read the complete features of Google Meet here.
It is clear that with Meet, Google wants to conquer video calling marketing just like it has done with search engines and mobile OS systems.
