Google And Amazon Are Punishing Consumers In Their Disputes

| Published on December 7, 2017

Google and Amazon clash continues with Google pulling YouTube from all of Amazon’s products. Back in 2015, Amazon had pulled the Chromecast and Nexus Player for boosting the sales of its own Fire TV products. In reply to this, Google blocked YouTube from working on the Echo Show earlier this year. Below is an image which is showing the message Amazon product users are getting:-

A spokesperson for Google revealed information regarding this and told, “We’ve been trying to reach agreement with Amazon to give consumers access to each other’s products and services, But Amazon doesn’t carry Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, doesn’t make Prime Video available for Google Cast users, and last month stopped selling some of Nest’s latest products.”

Amazon has replied Google for removing YouTube from their products. Amazon said, “Google is setting a disappointing precedent by selectively blocking customer access to an open website. We hope to resolve this with Google as soon as possible.”

It is a bad news for consumers and the situation would have been better for everyone if Google and Amazon worked together, but it looks like this will not happen anytime soon. As a result of all this, the Amazon users will not be able to watch Youtube on Amazon hardware and online shoppers won’t be able to buy smart home devices like the Google Home.

Have a look at some reactions from users on Twitter.

Clearly, the consumers aren’t looking happy with all this going around. Such fights between the big brands create difficulties for the people who want to access technologies from both the companies. Do let us know what you think about this.
