Paytm Alerts Users To Not Believe Any Fake Messages Claiming To Give Cashback

| Published on November 23, 2017

Tech Giant Alibaba backed Paytm and alerted millions of customers not to believe any fake messages that are claiming cashback up to Rs 1 lakh. Paytm reacted about this on its official Twitter account with a message reading “FAKE message Alert! We request our users to not believe any communication which is not authorized from official channels.”

Recently a text message is getting viral which promises Paytm users to avail cashback from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1 lakh just by clicking on a link. Paytm’s founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma also showed concerns about this issue and advised the users to not fall into the trap of such malicious messages.

Such spam messages have become very popular in India as Indians fall into the trap of free services and cashbacks very easily which helps some clever techies to earn big money in quick time. Such practices should be banned as soon as possible as both the trusted companies and the customers face many problems due to this.
Paytm has recently partnered with ICICI Bank to jointly launch ‘Paytm-ICICI Bank Postpaid’. This service will be available only for the ICICI bank customers at the start but Paytm has the plans to expand this to everyone.
