flutrr has appointed Ankit Santra as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), succeeding Anirban Banerjee, who announced that he is stepping down from the role after five years of leading the dating platform’s marketing function.
Banerjee, who built flutrr’s marketing vertical from the ground up, shared the leadership transition in a LinkedIn post, describing Santra as a long-time collaborator whose creative vision has been instrumental in shaping the brand.
Before taking over as CMO, Santra served as Creative Head at flutrr after initially working with the company as a consultant. According to Banerjee, Santra spearheaded the company’s end-to-end rebranding over the past year, leading its creative transformation and brand identity.
Banerjee and Santra first met at St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Kolkata, before pursuing careers in marketing and creative communications respectively. Prior to joining flutrr full-time, Santra earned his master’s degree in the UK and worked at dentsu, where he gained experience in brand building before returning to lead Flutrr’s creative function.
Reflecting on the transition, Banerjee said he had always intended to hand over the marketing leadership to someone who understood the company’s vision and culture, adding that Santra’s work on the rebranding made the decision a natural one.
