TikTok’s Rema Vasan Joins WPP As Global President, Social & Creator For Open X

Rema Vasan joins WPP after more than four years at TikTok, where she most recently served as Head of North America Business Marketing. She brings nearly three decades of experience spanning marketing, communications and digital strategy across TikTok, Marina Maher Communications, MSLGROUP, Publicis, Arnold Worldwide, CavinKare and Ogilvy & Mather.

TikTok’s Rema Vasan Joins WPP As Global President, Social & Creator For Open X

WPP has appointed Rema Vasan as Global President, Social and Creator for Open X, strengthening its leadership team for the integrated client model. In her new role, Vasan will lead WPP Open X’s global social and creator capabilities, helping drive integrated marketing solutions for clients.

She announced the new role via an enthusiastic LinkedIn post.

Vasan joins WPP after spending over four years at TikTok. Most recently, she served as Head of North America Business Marketing from May 2022 to July 2026. During her tenure, she also held the role of Head of Global Gaming Business Marketing from January 2023 to June 2024. She has also been a Founding Member at Chief since February 2020.

Prior to TikTok, Vasan spent three years at Marina Maher Communications, serving as Global President from August 2021 to May 2022, President from March 2021 to August 2021, and Executive Vice President & Chief Innovation Officer from June 2019 to March 2021.

Earlier, she was Executive Vice President, Global Lead – P&G at MSLGROUP from February 2016 to June 2019. Before that, she worked at Publicis as Senior Vice President, Global Digital Group Account Director from March 2008 to April 2014.

Vasan also spent six years and 11 months at Arnold Worldwide, serving as Senior Vice President, Director from May 2001 to March 2008. During this period, she also worked as European Account Director at WCRS from March 2004 to March 2005.

She began her career in brand management and advertising, serving as Brand Manager at CavinKare from November 1998 to December 2000, after working as Senior Account Executive at Ogilvy & Mather between June 1997 and November 1998.
