Advertising and marketing veteran Jishnu Sen has passed away.
Sen was widely recognised for his leadership in advertising, brand strategy and marketing, having held senior roles across leading agencies and consumer-facing businesses during his career.
The news of his demise was announced by his cousin, Shubho Sengupta, in a post on Linkedin.
He wrote, “Deeply saddened to share my cousin Jishnu Sen passed away in the early hours this morning. He had a long and distinguished career in advertising and marketing and had settled in Bangalore. He had a tremendous life force and in spite of his ailment over the last few years, lived life to the fullest.”
Sen had served as Chief Operating Officer at Grey India before being elevated to the role of Chief Executive Officer. During his tenure, he had led the agency’s advertising and digital businesses while helping expand its capabilities in activation and shopper marketing.
Prior to joining Grey India, he had worked at JWT and Young & Rubicam, where he had managed major regional assignments across Asia-Pacific and international markets.
Later in his career, Sen had held leadership and advisory roles at Essar Telecom Retail, Big Bazaar, Bergner India, Porter, DealShare and L’amar, where he had focused on brand strategy, marketing and business growth.
