Cheil South West Asia has appointed Sungkyoon Kim as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Cheil SWA group.
Sungkyoon Kim will be based out of the agency’s head office in Gurgaon and will lead a team of 1,000 employees across offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. The role covers oversight across creative, data, technology, retail, media and experiential disciplines.
Sungkyoon Kim brings over 30 years of experience in marketing strategy, data and analytics, and consumer psychology. Prior to joining Cheil SWA, he served as Head of Digital Platform Business, overseeing Samsung.com, and also led the DnA (Data and Analytics) Center at Cheil, where he was responsible for CRM and data initiatives.
He has led data-driven digital transformation initiatives at Cheil, strengthening CRM, media, marketing and AI capabilities across the organisation. This included designing and deploying a real-time digital media optimisation platform integrating cross-channel spend and performance data to improve investment efficiency and ROI, as well as developing and deploying LLM-powered AI agents for real-time analysis and automation of insight generation. He also led marketing automation initiatives as an Adobe Experience Platform expert, unifying customer data to enable real-time, personalised cross-channel campaigns.
He played a role in establishing Cheil’s Global Data Center in India, aimed at enhancing offshore R&D and global operational efficiency.
