IKEA India has appointed Patrik Antoni as Chief Executive Officer, effective August 2025. Antoni, who previously served as Deputy CEO of IKEA India and General Manager of IKEA Russia, has rejoined the India leadership team as the company strengthens its local operations and prepares for its next phase of growth.
With this appointment, IKEA is moving to a dual-leadership structure in India. Antoni will lead overall retail operations and common topics across Ingka companies, working alongside the Country Retail Manager & Chief Sustainability Officer. The company has stated that this setup is designed to enable a more integrated One IKEA India approach.
Antoni brings over 20 years of experience across IKEA markets. In India, he spent five years as Deputy CEO and was part of the launch team for the company’s first store in Hyderabad. 2018, he went on to become General Manager of IKEA Russia, where he led all of Ingka operations.
The leadership transition follows the exit of Susanne Pulverer, Country Retail Manager and CSO, who has stepped down after 28 years at IKEA, including over eight years in India across three stints. Recruitment for her successor is currently underway.
“I am honored and excited to return to India, a market that holds a special place in my heart and in my career,” said Antoni. “India is a truly unique market with immense potential for growth. I look forward to bringing my experience, energy, and deep commitment to IKEA’s values to support our ambitious expansion plans, making IKEA even more accessible to the many people in India.”
“I am very grateful for the incredible years at IKEA with many leadership learnings and with unforgettable experiences in India, this beautiful country with its beautiful people. While now handing over to a new leadership, I am excited to start a new chapter in my life”, said Susanne Pulverer.
